The Undergraduate Program in the Department of Biology continues to provide undergraduates with the most up to date biological science curriculum.  116 new majors enrolled in the program fall quarter. This fall the department welcomed eight new students to the graduate program, who have already joined their distinguished colleagues by receiving various awards and distinctions. Biology Principal Lecturer Scott Freeman and several undergraduate students were featured in a video about active learning in the classroom and new strategies to create more equitable learning environments for all students. The work is underway! The new Life Sciences Complex is officially under construction. Biology turned the site over to the development team in June and it has been exciting to watch the progress, abet noisy progress, each day.
