Thank you for your interest in joining UW Biology!
Biology seeks to answer many of humanity's most open-ended questions and to continue making scientific breakthroughs by focusing on two critical resources — people and facilities. Among the attributes that make our department an attractive place to work, the effortlessly collaborative and collegial nature of what we do is perhaps the most compelling. Nurturing creative collaboration across the department and across disciplines has resulted in a tremendously productive department: we award more than 600 undergraduate degrees annually with fewer than 50 full-time faculty who bring in $10M annually in grant, contract, and gift funding to support research. The combination of our diverse, synergistic community and the opening of the Life Sciences Complex in 2018 will propel us further toward the cutting-edge of discovery and innovation. We aim to attract applicants most likely to embrace this ethos and thrive here at the University of Washington.
