This internship is made possible by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. (NYSE:ARE), an S&P 500 real estate investment trust (REIT) uniquely focused on collaborative life science and technology campuses in the top innovation clusters in North America, which was founded in 1994 by Jerry M. Sudarsky (1918−2009), a chemical engineer, entrepreneur, and visionary in the chemical and molecular life science industry who was dedicated to his field and generous with students pursuing its advancement, and Joel S. Marcus, the company’s long-tenured CEO and chairman. Alexandria is supporting two annual internships for outstanding undergraduates who demonstrate enthusiasm and innovation in the life science field. Interns will be matched with a cutting-edge life science company from Alexandria’s Seattle tenant base for a 10-week summer internship. Students will also have the opportunity to network and develop relationships with the Alexandria team and its life science tenants at industry events throughout the year. Eligibility
Department of Biology undergraduate juniors interested in conducting research in the life science discipline. Selection based on academic merit and financial need, as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid. **Applicants for this internship will be asked to do a short interview to help the committee determine recipients.
