This award is part of an initiative from the BEACON Center for the Study of Evolution in Action (an NSF funded Science and Technology Center). This award is made possible through matching funds from the UW School of Medicine that originated from a gift made by Marie Nesbit and Robert C. Nesbit. The overarching goal of BEACON is to bring biologists, computer scientists, and engineers together to study evolution as it happens and apply this knowledge to solve real-world problems.
