Alejandro Rico-Guevara, UW Biology Assistant Professor and Curator of Ornithology at the Burke Museum, was recently awarded The Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology's Carl Gans Award. The Carl Gans Awards are named in recognition of Carl Gans’ scientific career and editorial contributions to animal morphology, biomechanics, and functional biology. This award recognizes an outstanding young investigator for distinguished contributions to the field of comparative biomechanics.
