The endowment supporting this award was established in 2007 in honor of Biology Profs. Emeriti Lynn Riddiford and James Truman, to support graduate research. They both spent many years as Zoology and then Biology Faculty at the University of Washington and have international reputations for their groundbreaking work on insect neuroendocrine control and neuronal remodeling during insect metamorphosis.
