Ellen's research examines how skin cells migrate in order to heal wounds. She uses micro-engineered devices and zebrafish larvae to investigate physical aspects of migration within skin, such as confinement. She is particularly interested in how robustly these cells move in new environments.
Ellen is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Biophysics program at Stanford. She joined the UW Biology community in 2018, when the Theriot Lab moved to Seattle. She earned her B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame.
