Logistics
Office AssignmentsOffice space for graduate students is limited.
In spring of each year an email will be sent out, with a form attached, to current graduate students requesting any floor or office changes they would like to make in summer.
1.
If you have finished your degree and turned in your thesis we would like your current desk space cleared by August 15 of that year.
If you will remain a postdoc with a faculty member here they should provide postdoc space for you in their labs.
So email Judy Farrow
farrowj@u.washington.edu if you will
NOT be able to vacate by August 15 with reasons why.
2.By August 15th.
If you want to move to a space in another grad office make arrangements with the other dwellers of this space, then send Judy Farrow
farrowj@u.washington.edu an email with a cc: to all the potential new office-mates about the change so everyone can have their say.
Then fill out the form with your request.
Requests will be accommodated as often as possible.
Remember: if you have an office, security is a relative thing.
Keys have been handed out for years and the locks are never changed.
Your personal possessions are not insured by the university or the department.
New incoming grads will be assigned in the spaces left over from the moves of current students.

International Students We welcome qualified applicants from other countries, as well as foreign citizens attending or holding degrees from American universities. Both Seattle and the University have populations drawn from many countries. International students may find this a distinct advantage in choosing our graduate program.
